The Terre Haute Rex (28-9) beat the Quincy Gems (14-22) 3-2 on Tuesday at Bob Warn Field at Sycamore Stad behind Greg Popylisen, who went 2-4.

Dominic Miles went a perfect 4-4 at the dish for the Quincy Gems. He singled in the first, third, fifth, and seventh innings.

Samuel Higgs improved to 4-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Terre Haute Rex. He allowed two runs over five innings. He struck out three, walked two and surrendered five hits.

J.T. Baksha ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just three innings, walked none, struck out one, and allowed two runs.
