David Jacob collected four hits, helping the Springfield Sliders (18-20) to a 4-2 victory over the Danville Dans (21-16) on Tuesday at Danville Stadium.

The Danville Dans couldn't get anything going as long as Jose Marin was pitching. The Danville Dans managed just two hits off of Marin, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out five during his four innings of work.

Jevon Boyd improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Springfield Sliders. He allowed two runs over five innings. Boyd struck out five, walked five and gave up two hits.

Robbie Gordon (1-3) took the loss for the Danville Dans. He lasted just six innings, walked two, struck out four, and allowed three runs.
