David Jacob had two extra base hits, helping the Springfield Sliders (17-20) to a 7-4 victory over the Hannibal Cavemen (8-25) on Sunday at Robin Roberts Field.
He tripled in the third inning, doubled in the sixth inning, and singled in the eighth innings.Lewie Applegate picked up the win for the Springfield Sliders. Applegate allowed two earned runs, six hits and no walks while striking out three over seven innings of work.
Jake Eikleberry couldn't get it done on the mound for the Hannibal Cavemen, taking a loss. He allowed six runs in five innings, walked one and struck out five.
The Springfield Sliders were sparked by Jesus Caporal and Jacob, who teamed up for six hits and four RBIs.
