Mark Zimmerman went 1-4, helping the Kokomo Jackrabbits (2-1) to a 3-1 victory over the Quincy Gems (1-2) on Friday at Quincy Stadium.

Felix Baez struck out seven, paving the way for a the Kokomo Jackrabbits win. Baez allowed one earned run on three hits and one walk over seven innings.

The Kokomo Jackrabbits couldn't get anything going so long as Kade Granier was on the hill. The Kokomo Jackrabbits managed just two hits off of Granier, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out four during his four innings of work.

Joseph Mercado (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just 4 2/3 innings, walked six, struck out six, and allowed three runs.
