Kendall Motes struck out 10 batters, but it wasn't enough to carry the Chemeketa (18-21) to a win on Friday, as the Chemeketa fell to the Linn-Benton (18-21) 3-2 at LBCC Baseball Field in 10 innings.
Trevin Stephens paced the Linn-Benton at the plate. Stephens went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the eighth inning and homered in the tenth inning.
Jake Boyd improved to 2-2 on the year by picking up the win for the Linn-Benton. He struck out one, walked none and surrendered no hits.
Blake Wrotenbery ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just two innings, walked none, struck out none, and allowed one run.
