Extra-inning thriller favors the Shoreline, 8-7 winners over the Skagit Valley

The Shoreline (17-15) beat the Skagit Valley (15-20) 8-7 but needed 11 innings to do so on Sunday at Meridian.

With the score tied at seven, Brent Firth came to the plate and singled, scoring Drey McInnes.

Firth racked up four RBIs on three hits for the Shoreline. He homered in the first inning and singled in the fifth and eleventh innings.

Max Dwyer pitched lights out for the Shoreline. Dwyer held the Skagit Valley hitless over three innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out one.

Jesson Preston had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He doubled in the fourth and fifth innings.

Kyler Howell ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his third loss of the year. He lasted just zero innings, walked none, struck out none, and allowed no runs.
