Zanon helps the Shoreline down the Tacoma 7-3

The Shoreline (8-4) beat the Tacoma (8-6) 7-3 in eight innings on Thursday at Minnitti Field behind Jacob Zanon, who collected three hits.

He singled in the third and fourth innings and doubled in the sixth inning.

The Tacoma's lineup had no answer for Max Dwyer. Dwyer held the Tacoma hitless over 1 2/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out four.

Despite the loss, the Tacoma's Greg Casper dominated the Shoreline's batters, giving up two runs and striking out five.

Clay Valenzula-Reece led the Tacoma's offensive threat, as he got on base three times in the game. He singled in the first inning.

Henry McAree improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Shoreline. He allowed three runs over five innings. McAree struck out 10, walked three and gave up three hits.

Cory Main couldn't get it done on the mound for the Tacoma, taking a loss. He lasted just three innings, walked two, struck out two, and allowed five runs.
