Mitchell Jackman went 1-1, sparking the Douglas (7-10) to a 2-1 victory in seven innings over the Vancouver Island on Wednesday at Whalley Little League Park .

Jamie Whitehead pitched lights out for the Douglas. Whitehead held the Vancouver Island hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.

Josh Yung got the win, running his season record to 1-1. He struck out two, walked none and surrendered no hits.

Stairs ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just 6 2/3 innings, walked three, struck out four, and allowed two runs.
