The Mt. Hood (28-11) beat the Linn-Benton (17-21) 19-0 in five innings on Saturday at LBCC Baseball Field after a 10-run explosion in the fifth inning.
The Mt. Hood scored in the fifth on a wild pitch, , , a triple by Thomas Lane, an RBI single by Camran Pollick, a sacrifice fly by Evan Jones, and a three-run home run by Nick Gawley.
Lane racked up nine RBIs on two hits for the Mt. Hood.
Aaron Clift held the Linn-Benton scoreless during his five innings of work. He pitched a shutout, allowing no runs on three hits while striking out four.
Ian Scott (4-3) took the loss for the Linn-Benton. He allowed nine runs in 3 2/3 innings, walked three and struck out five.
