Joe Balfour struck out eight batters to lift the Mt. Hood (28-11) to a 4-3 win over the Chemeketa at Chemeketa Baseball Stadium.

Taylor Travess reached base two times. He tripled in the ninth inning.

Despite the loss, the Chemeketa (18-20)'s Jordan Knoll dominated the Mt. Hood's batters, giving up two runs and striking out six.

Kris Jackson ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked none, struck out none, and allowed one run.
