The Clark outdone by Bird and the Wenatchee Valley, 6-2

Ryan Bird went 1-4, helping the Wenatchee Valley (4-4) to a 6-2 victory over the Clark (5-6) on Friday at Kindsfather Field .

He singled in the second inning.

John Coutoure brought the heat against the Clark during his outing. The Clark managed just two hits off of the the Wenatchee Valley's pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out none during his 3 1/3 innings of work.

Tim Reynolds was effective even in defeat, mowing down five the Wenatchee Valley batters and allowing zero runs.

Kyle Blankenship improved to 2-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Wenatchee Valley. He allowed two runs over five innings. Blankenship struck out three, walked two and gave up three hits.

Nathan Lainhart ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked one, struck out five, and allowed four runs.
