Travess' effort not enough in the Mt. Hood's 8-3 loss

Taylor Travess both hit and pitched well for the Mt. Hood (7-3), but it wasn't enough as the Mt. Hood fell to the Edmonds 8-3 at Sandy HS on Saturday.

The Mt. Hood were led by Travess' hitting. Travess went 2-4 and scored one run. He singled in the first and third innings.

Travess had an impressive outing against the Edmonds (11-2)'s lineup. Travess held the Edmonds hitless over one inning, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out three.

It was a good day at the plate for the Edmonds' Conor Plaisance. Plaisance went 2-4, drove in one and scored two runs. He singled in the second inning and doubled in the eighth inning.

The Mt. Hood couldn't get anything going as long as Nick Johnston was pitching. Johnston held the Mt. Hood hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out none.

Brady Batt got the win, running his season record to 1-0. He allowed two runs over three innings. He struck out none, walked two and surrendered two hits.

Joe Miller (2-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed six runs in four innings, walked none and struck out two.
