The Mt. Hood (11-7) jumped out to an early lead on the Clackamas (5-12) and captured a 17-2 victory on Friday at Clackamas Community College Sof.

With eight runs in the first three innings, the Mt. Hood left no doubt about the eventual outcome.

A groundout by Kody Matthews during the first inning and a three-run home run by Nick Gawley, a two-run double by Louis Wolf, an RBI single by Matthews, and an RBI single by Thomas Lane in the second inning fueled the Mt. Hood's offense early.

Lane racked up four RBIs on two hits for the Mt. Hood.

Trevor Achenbach racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Clackamas. He homered in the fourth inning.

Nathan Hunter improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Mt. Hood. He allowed two runs over four innings. He struck out two, walked two and surrendered two hits.

Mark Rees (1-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed eight runs in two innings, walked none and struck out none.
