A walk-off error from Connor Anderson brought home the winning run for the Yakima Valley (12-3) in a 3-2 victory over the Spokane (11-3) in 10 innings at Parker Field on Wednesday.
Anderson had a hot bat for the Yakima Valley. Anderson went 3-5. He singled in the fourth, sixth, and eighth innings.
Darion Simmons baffled the Spokane, striking out 10 batters. Simmons allowed two earned runs on five hits and no walks over eight innings.
Spencer Backstrom improved to 2-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Yakima Valley. Backstrom struck out one, walked none and gave up no hits.
Alex Rees ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just 2 1/3 innings, walked two, struck out two, and allowed one run.
