Evan Douglas had two extra base hits, sparking the Spokane (9-2) to an 8-4 victory over the Clackamas (5-6) on Saturday at Spokane Falls Community College.
He tripled in the third inning, homered in the sixth inning, and singled in the seventh inning.Alex Rees pitched lights out for the Spokane. The Clackamas managed just two hits off of Rees, who allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out four during his four innings of work.
The Clackamas were led by Shane Suyama's hitting. Suyama went 2-2, drove in one and scored one run. He doubled in the second inning and singled in the sixth inning.
Chris Painter (0-1) took the loss for the Clackamas. He lasted just three innings, walked none, struck out one, and allowed three runs.
The Spokane were sparked by Douglas and Trevor Mahn, who teamed up for five hits and four RBIs.
