Connor Anderson went 2-4, helping the Yakima Valley (22-17) to a 3-1 victory over the Blue Mountain (13-28) on Wednesday at Pendleton, OR.
He doubled in the second inning and singled in the fifth inning.Darrion Simons had an impressive outing against the Blue Mountain's lineup. The Blue Mountain managed just two hits off of the the Yakima Valley's pitcher, who allowed one earned run, walked four and struck out four during his eight innings of work.
Tyson Wicklander pitched lights out for the Blue Mountain. Wicklander held the Yakima Valley hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out one.
Eric Purcell was charged with his fourth loss of the year. He lasted just seven innings, walked four, struck out five, and allowed three runs.
