Third-inning rally sparks blowout win for the Spokane, 14-4

The Spokane (25-12) blew out the Blue Mountain 14-4 on Saturday at Spokane Falls Community College after pouring on eight runs in the third inning.

The Spokane scored in the third on a double by Jordan McGowan, a double by Lucas Denney, a single by Ryan Murkle, a double by Trevor Mahn, a groundout by Michael Heaton, a single by Darian Barlow, an RBI single by Logan Jackson, an RBI single by Sheldon Liikala, a two-run double by Evan Douglas, and an RBI single by Murkle.

The Blue Mountain (13-27) couldn't slow down Murkle, who paced the Spokane with five hits.

The Spokane relied on Zach Haggett to eat up innings en route to the win. Haggett pitched six innings and allowed one earned run, four hits and two walks while striking out two.

Omar Godina racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Blue Mountain. He singled in the fourth and eighth innings.

Austin Wilson (1-6) took the loss for the Blue Mountain. He lasted just two innings, walked one, struck out two, and allowed five runs.
