The Spokane jump on the Blue Mountain early and coast to 8-2 win

The Spokane (20-5) jumped out to an early lead on the Blue Mountain (9-19) and captured an 8-2 victory on Saturday at Pendleton, OR.

The game was decided quickly as the Spokane exerted their will early with six runs in the first three innings.

A sacrifice fly by Jordan McGowan, an RBI single by Tyler Thorson, and an error in the first inning and a two-run single by Evan Douglas and an RBI double by McGowan during the second inning supplied the early offense for the Spokane.

Douglas reached base three times.

Jake Olson pitched lights out for the Spokane. Olson held the Blue Mountain hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two.

The Spokane had no answer for Daniel Daughtry, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Daughtry held the Spokane hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out two.

Corbin Smith recorded his fourth win of the year for the Spokane. He allowed two runs over seven innings. Smith struck out five, walked three and gave up seven hits.

Eric Purcell couldn't get it done on the mound for the Blue Mountain, taking a loss. He allowed six runs in two innings, walked two and struck out three.
