Demetri Shears had two extra base hits as the Green River (4-6) took home an 8-3 victory over the Blue Mountain (4-6) on Saturday.
He tripled in the second inning and doubled in the third inning.Travis Blough picked up the win for the Green River. Blough pitched 6 2/3 innings and allowed one earned run, four hits and no walks while striking out one.
Brennan Serrano was hot from the plate for the Blue Mountain. Serrano went 2-4 and scored two runs. He singled in the fifth and ninth innings.
Grant Klopmeyer had an impressive outing against the Green River's lineup. Klopmeyer held the Green River hitless over 1 2/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one.
Jasper Sabatino (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just 2 1/3 innings, walked two, struck out one, and allowed five runs.
Shears, Quinn Burcham and Billy Barker helped lead the Green River. They combined for seven hits and three RBIs.
