The Treasure Valley (31-14) jumped out to an early lead, but were unable to hold on and lost 5-1 to the Columbia Basin (29-13) on Wednesday.

The Columbia Basin took the lead in the fifth inning on a two-run single by Damon Nester.

Tanner Simpson picked up the win for the Columbia Basin. Simpson allowed one earned run, three hits and one walk while striking out five over seven innings of work.

Despite the loss, the Treasure Valley's Tony McCardy dominated the Columbia Basin's batters, giving up zero runs and striking out six.

Daulton Blackwell (4-3) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just four innings, walked two, struck out four, and allowed four runs.
