The Columbia Basin cruise past the Blue Mountain, 8-1

The Blue Mountain (9-14) had a tough outing on Saturday, as the Columbia Basin (18-5) dominated in an 8-1 win at Pendleton, OR.

The Columbia Basin scored three runs in the eighth on the Columbia Basin scored in the eighth on an RBI single by Drew Loera and a two-run home run by Hayden Meier.

Joey Cotto led the Columbia Basin's offensive threat, as he got on base three times in the game. He singled in the first inning and doubled in the eighth inning.

Jasper Sabatino pitched lights out for the Blue Mountain. Sabatino held the Columbia Basin hitless over 1 1/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two.

Eric Purcell ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked four, struck out four, and allowed four runs.
