An awesome effort by Darrion Simons spurred the Yakima Valley (13-7) to a 5-0 win over the Columbia Basin (17-5) on Wednesday at Columbia Basin Baseball Field.

Simons struck out 11, paving the way for a the Yakima Valley win. The Yakima Valley's pitcher tossed nine innings of shutout ball and allowed only four hits.

Matt Jensen (2-1) took the loss for the Columbia Basin. He lasted just three innings, walked seven, struck out one, and allowed two runs.
