The Columbia Basin (9-1) shut the door early on the Centralia (0-6), capturing a 22-1 victory on Saturday at Columbia Basin Baseball Field.
With seven runs in the first three innings, the Columbia Basin left no doubt about the eventual outcome.
A two-run single by Hayden Meier in the first inning and a two-run single by Spencer Binnion and an RBI single by Meier during the second inning helped the Columbia Basin put some runs on the board early.Aaron Enderlin had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He singled in the fifth inning and tripled in the third and sixth innings.
Matt Jensen brought the heat against the Centralia during his outing. The Centralia managed just one hit off of Jensen, who allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out five during his four innings of work.
Patrick Hoeper ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He allowed eight runs in three innings, walked three and struck out two.
The Columbia Basin easily handled the Centralia pitching as eight hitters combined for 17 hits, 18 RBIs and 20 runs scored.
