Five first-inning runs helped the Lower Columbia (9-4) to a 5-1 win over the George Fox JV at David Story Field on Tuesday.

The Lower Columbia scored in the first on an RBI triple by Jake Bakamus, an RBI single by Ryan Littlefield, an RBI single by Jordan Barchus, an RBI single by Barchus, and an RBI single by Conner Switzer.

The Lower Columbia were led by Bakamus' hitting. Bakamus went 1-3, drove in one and scored one run.

Ryan Peart pitched lights out for the Lower Columbia. Peart gave up just three hits, allowed one earned run, walked none and struck out five during his five innings of work.

Zach Johnson took the loss for the George Fox JV. He lasted just five innings, walked none, struck out one, and allowed five runs.
