The Pierce get late runs to finish off the Centralia, 12-6

The Pierce (20-21) scored three runs in the eighth to cap a 12-6 win over the Centralia (8-28) on Saturday.

The Pierce scored in the eighth on a two-run double by Matt Thompson and an RBI single by Jarred Prather.

Gunnar Schubert put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Pierce. He tripled in the fourth inning.

Kyle Kornegay picked up the win for the Pierce. Kornegay pitched seven innings and allowed two earned runs, five hits and no walks while striking out four.

Robbie Nelson racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Centralia. He singled in the seventh inning and doubled in the eighth inning.

Austin Anderson (3-5) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed seven runs in five innings, walked five and struck out one.

Schubert, Whit Gilligan, Thompson and Prather helped lead the Pierce. They combined for 10 hits and nine RBIs.
