The Westcott (3-0) refused to relinquish the lead after grabbing it early against the Nine (1-2), recording an 8-0 victory on Saturday at Gaudet.
The game was decided quickly as the Westcott exerted their will early with seven runs in the first three innings.
A solo home run by Anthony Pagano in the first inning and , a two-run single by Jake Tillman, an RBI double by Lou Umberto, and a single by Pagano during the second inning supplied the early offense for the Westcott.Pagano racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Westcott.
The Nine had no answer for Matt Laferriere, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Laferriere held the Nine hitless over five innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out nine.
Alex Simas was effective even in defeat, mowing down five the Westcott batters and allowing one run.
Josh Sokol (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed seven runs in three innings, walked one and struck out three.
