Jesperson's walk-off single send the Alberta home winners, 4-3

A walk-off single from Carrie Jesperson brought home the winning run for the Alberta (4-0) in a 4-3 victory over the British Columbia at Whalley Athletic Park on Sunday.

Jesperson was hot from the plate for the Alberta. Jesperson went 4-5. He doubled in the second inning and singled in the fourth, sixth, and ninth innings.

Even in defeat, Daniella Matteucci played well for the British Columbia (3-2).

Matteucci got on base three times in the game for the British Columbia. He singled in the third and ninth innings.

Matteucci handled the Alberta's lineup with ease, racking up eight strikeouts. Matteucci allowed two earned runs, eight hits and three walks over 8 1/3 innings.

Tara Sliwkanich got the win, running his season record to 1-0. He allowed one run over 2 2/3 innings. He struck out none, walked none and surrendered one hit.

Matteucci was charged with his first loss of the year.
