The Town Dock need walk-off single to beat the Nine, 5-4

A walk-off single from Scott Woodward brought home the winning run for the Town Dock (2-1) in a 5-4 victory over the Nine (1-2) in 11 innings at Cardines Field on Saturday.

Woodward did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Town Dock, reaching base three times. He singled in the fifth and eleventh innings.

John Kalajian put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Town Dock. He singled in the third inning and doubled in the second and eighth innings.

Ryan Gerimia baffled the Nine, striking out 10 batters. Gerimia allowed four earned runs, nine hits and two walks over 8 1/3 innings.

Cliff Peasley improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Town Dock. Peasley struck out five, walked two and gave up two hits.

Frank Mazza (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just 2 2/3 innings, walked three, struck out two, and allowed one run.
