Jordan Sheinkop kept the Chillicothe Paints (2-1) off the board during his 6 2/3 innings of work and the Quincy Gems (3-1) beat the Chillicothe Paints, 9-0.

Sheinkop struck out three and allowed two walks and four hits.

Everything was working at the plate for the the Quincy Gems in the eighth. In the inning the Quincy Gems scored six runs. The Quincy Gems scored in the eighth on a two-run single by Demetre Taylor, a solo home run by Ryan Light, a two-run single by Logan Bone, and a solo home run by Matt Marek.

Light racked up four RBIs on two hits for the Quincy Gems.

Keegan Akin (0-1) took the loss for the Chillicothe Paints. He lasted just five innings, walked two, struck out three, and allowed three runs.
