An exceptional effort by Walker Buehler lifted the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox (1-1) to a 9-0 win over the Orleans Firebirds on Friday at Red Wilson Field.

Buehler held the Orleans Firebirds (1-1) scoreless for seven innings. Buehler allowed two hits, one walk and struck out five.

Jesse Jenner delivered a big hit off the bench in the one.. His pinch-hit single was the key moment in the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox's nine-run win.

With the game scoreless in the first inning Jenner came to the plate and singled.

Jenner had two extra-base hits for the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox.

Five runs in the opening three innings allowed the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox to easily put away the Orleans Firebirds. A two-run single by Timothy Wharton and a fielder's choice during the first inning supplied the early offense for the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox.

Eric Hanhold (0-1) took the loss for the Orleans Firebirds. He allowed seven runs in four innings, walked three and struck out four.

The Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox were sparked by Jenner and Michael Donadio, who teamed up for eight hits and two RBIs.
