Matt Spillman went 1-2, helping the Swift Current Indians (3-1) to a 3-1 victory over the Weyburn Beavers (1-3) on Monday at Tom Laing Park.

Juan Pizarro picked up the win for the Swift Current Indians. Pizarro pitched seven innings and allowed one earned run, four hits and four walks while striking out four.

Despite the loss, the Weyburn Beavers' Sean Stanislawski dominated the Swift Current Indians' batters, giving up zero runs and striking out five.

Roman Lorentz was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just six innings, walked two, struck out three, and allowed three runs.
