A walk-off error from Kirk Morgan brought home the winning run for the Lake Norman Copperheads (25-17) in a 3-2 victory over the Ballantyne Smokies (27-15) at Hopewell HS on Tuesday.

Morgan did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Lake Norman Copperheads, reaching base two times. He also drove in one runner. He singled in the sixth inning.

Daniel Stack had two extra-base hits for the Lake Norman Copperheads. He doubled in the second inning and tripled in the sixth inning.

Hunter Hamilton pitched seven innings and allowed one earned run, six hits and two walks while striking out four.

Morgan got the win, running his season record to 2-0. He allowed one run over one inning. Morgan struck out one, walked none and gave up one hit.

Nate Blaylock (1-2) took the loss for the Ballantyne Smokies. He lasted just zero innings, walked none, struck out none, and allowed one run.
