Brady Policelli went 2-3, sparking the Gaithersburg Giants (15-16) to a 4-1 victory over the Rockville Express (18-15) on Saturday at Criswell Automotive Field.
He singled in the first inning and doubled in the third inning.Ty Culbreth's eight strikeouts helped the Gaithersburg Giants to the victory. Culbreth allowed no earned runs, four hits and one walk over six innings.
Despite the loss, the Rockville Express' Mike Bittel dominated the Gaithersburg Giants' batters, giving up three runs and striking out eight.
Anthony Firenzi boosted his batting average thanks to a perfect 3-3 day at the plate to pace the Rockville Express. He singled in the first, sixth, and eighth innings.
Bittel ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year.
