The Orleans Firebirds (14-9) beat the Chatham Anglers (12-10) 3-1 on Monday at Eldredge Park behind Mitchell Tolman, who went 1-2.

A bright spot for the Chatham Anglers in the defeat was Andrew Chin, who allowed only zero runs while striking out five.
Bobby Poyner improved to 2-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Orleans Firebirds. Poyner struck out two, walked none and gave up one hit.
Jeff Gelinas was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed three runs.
