The Alexandria Aces (12-10) jumped out to an early lead, but were unable to hold on and lost 10-5 to the Vienna River Dogs (10-10) on Tuesday.

While the Alexandria Aces led until the ninth inning, the Vienna River Dogs worked their way back and took the lead.

The Vienna River Dogs were led by Shaun Corso's hitting. Corso went 3-5, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the fourth and ninth innings.

The Alexandria Aces' lineup had no answer for Denis Mikush. The Alexandria Aces managed just one hit off of the the Vienna River Dogs' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two during his two innings of work.

A bright spot for the Alexandria Aces in the defeat was Ray Gambone, who allowed only zero runs while striking out six.

Kyle Ward (0-1) took the loss for the Alexandria Aces. He allowed six runs in two-thirds of an inning, walked none and struck out one.
