The Gaithersburg Giants (1-0) beat the Silver Spring Takoma T Bolts (0-1) 3-0 on Wednesday behind Derek Jenkins, who went 2-4.
He singled in the fifth and seventh innings.Jesse Frawley put together a nice outing. The Silver Spring Takoma T Bolts managed just one hit off of Frawley, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two during his five innings of work.
Brandon Holsworth had an impressive outing against the Gaithersburg Giants' lineup. Holsworth gave up just two hits, allowed no earned runs, walked three and struck out one during his five innings of work.
Holsworth ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year.
