The Bethesda Big Train (31-9) took down the Gaithersburg Giants (22-17) 14-4 on Friday at Shirley Povich Field after slamming the Gaithersburg Giants with eight runs in the second inning.

The Bethesda Big Train scored in the second on a two-run double by Tony DiLeo, , a two-run single by Brandon Lowe, and a three-run home run by Wes Rea.

Rea racked up four RBIs on two hits for the Bethesda Big Train.

Kit Scheetz got the win for the Bethesda Big Train thanks to six strikeouts. Scheetz allowed one earned run on four hits and two walks over six innings.

Taylor Bloom ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed eight runs in 1 2/3 innings, walked four and struck out two.
