Casey Hood held the Gaithersburg Giants (14-15) scoreless for six innings to boost the Vienna River Dogs (14-15) to a 6-0 victory.

Hood allowed three hits, no walks and struck out four.

The Vienna River Dogs blew out the Gaithersburg Giants thanks to nine hits, including zero extra base hits. The Vienna River Dogs scored three runs in the sixth on the Vienna River Dogs scored in the sixth on an RBI single by Kevin Lachance and a two-run single by Quincy Nieporte.

Lachance went a perfect 4-4 at the plate for the Vienna River Dogs.

Stephen Lee (0-1) took the loss for the Gaithersburg Giants. He lasted just four innings, walked two, struck out three, and allowed one run.
