An awesome effort by Willie Rios carried the Baltimore Redbirds (13-7) to a 12-5 win over the SS-T T Bolts (8-14) on Saturday at Blair Stadium.
The Baltimore Redbirds got the win thanks in large part to Rios' dominant, 13-strikeout performance. Rios allowed no earned runs on two hits and one walk over six innings.
Seven runs in the opening three innings allowed the Baltimore Redbirds to easily put away the SS-T T Bolts. A sacrifice fly by JB Woodman during the first inning and an RBI single by Tyler Ramirez and a sacrifice fly by Mike Parsons in the second inning helped the Baltimore Redbirds put some runs on the board early.
The Baltimore Redbirds were led by a flawless day at the dish by Parsons, who went 2-2 against the SS-T T Bolts' pitching.
Jake Taylor brought the heat against the Baltimore Redbirds during his outing. The Baltimore Redbirds managed just one hit off of Taylor, who allowed no earned runs, walked four and struck out three during his three innings of work.
Jordan Church (0-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed seven runs in 2 1/3 innings, walked four and struck out one.
