The Rockville Express (13-8) beat the Bethesda Big Train (18-2) 7-6 but needed 12 innings to do so on Sunday at Shirley Povich Field.

With the score tied at six, Romeo Cortina came to the plate and singled, scoring Dominic Fazio.

Cortina got on base five times in the game for the Rockville Express. He scored two runs and had one RBI. He doubled in the third inning and singled in the twelfth inning.

Juan Cortina kept contact to a minimum, striking out six the Bethesda Big Train batters. Cortina allowed no earned runs on four hits and two walks over five innings.

Johnny Cole led the Bethesda Big Train's offensive threat, as he got on base five times in the game. He also drove in one runner. He tripled in the seventh inning and singled in the twelfth inning.

Andy Frakes (0-1) took the loss for the Bethesda Big Train. He lasted just three innings, walked none, struck out three, and allowed one run.
