The Alexandria Aces (11-8) and the Vienna River Dogs (5-9) both had scoring chances on Wednesday, but it was the Alexandria Aces that were able to capitalize on them as they pulled out a 6-4 win at James Madison High School.

Ashford Fulmer racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Alexandria Aces. He singled in the second and sixth innings.

The Alexandria Aces' lineup had no answer for William Thompson. The Alexandria Aces managed just two hits off of Thompson, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out one during his five innings of work.

Zac Wittmus recorded his second win of the year for the Alexandria Aces. He allowed four runs over six innings. Wittmus struck out five, walked one and gave up eight hits.

Jonathan Kelley was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just one-third of an inning, walked three, struck out none, and allowed five runs.
