An outstanding effort by Mike Bittel spurred the Rockville Express (8-5) to a 2-1 win over the Gaithersburg Giants (6-6) on Friday at Montgomery College.

Bittel racked up seven strikeouts in the the Rockville Express win. Bittel allowed no earned runs, four hits and two walks over eight innings.

Kyle Colgain brought the heat against the Rockville Express during his outing. Colgain held the Rockville Express hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two.

Sam Mason ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just three innings, walked one, struck out none, and allowed two runs.
