Nick Cieri went 2-3, sparking the Baltimore Redbirds (7-3) to a 3-1 victory over the Gaithersburg Giants (6-5) on Thursday at Criswell Automotive Field.

The Gaithersburg Giants had no answer for Sean Kennedy, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The Gaithersburg Giants managed just two hits off of the the Baltimore Redbirds' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked four and struck out four during his six innings of work.

Trevor Houck held the Baltimore Redbirds scoreless for six innings. Houck allowed two hits, no walks and struck out four.

Nolan Riggs recorded his second win of the year for the Baltimore Redbirds. He struck out six, walked two and surrendered one hit.

Colin McGowan ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just one-third of an inning, walked none, struck out none, and allowed two runs.
