Early lead gives the New Brunswick easy victory over the British Columbia, 8-2

The New Brunswick (1-0) refused to relinquish the lead after grabbing it early against the British Columbia (0-1), recording an 8-2 victory on Thursday at Beazley.

With five runs in the first three innings, the New Brunswick left no doubt about the eventual outcome.

An RBI single by Mark Legere in the first inning helped the New Brunswick put some runs on the board early.

Adam Clark racked up three RBIs on two hits for the New Brunswick. He doubled in the third and sixth innings.

The New Brunswick relied on Shawn Reid to eat up innings en route to the win. Reid pitched seven innings and allowed two earned runs, seven hits and no walks while striking out five.

Josh Larsen (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just four innings, walked none, struck out three, and allowed five runs.
