Ryan Soares was cold coming off the bench, but Soares warmed up quickly as Soares stroked a key pinch-hit single in the three to lead the Windy City ThunderBolts (8-7) to a 4-2 win over the Lake Erie Crushers (9-6) on Wednesday at Standard Bank Stadium.

With the score tied at one, Soares came to the plate and singled.

Kyle Robinson got on base three times in the game for the Windy City ThunderBolts. He scored one run and had one RBI. He singled in the second inning and doubled in the fifth inning.

James Ferguson improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Windy City ThunderBolts. He struck out none, walked two and surrendered two hits.

Mickey Jannis ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just four innings, walked two, struck out three, and allowed four runs.
