The Alberta (2-1) jumped on the Saskatchewan (1-1) early on their way to a 7-2 win on Friday at Field one in seven innings, scoring three runs in the first inning.

The Alberta scored in the first on a groundout by Jason Louis and a two-run single by Kerry Boon.

Boon racked up four RBIs on two hits for the Alberta.

Davin Gulbransen picked up the win for the Alberta. Gulbransen allowed two earned runs, six hits and one walk while striking out five over seven innings of work.

Riley Schaaf was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just four innings, walked five, struck out two, and allowed five runs.
