Cheyenne Barger was cold coming off the bench, but Barger warmed up quickly as Barger stroked a key pinch-hit single in the one to lead the Treasure Valley (32-16) to an 11-3 win over the SW Oregon (30-17) on Saturday at Delta Park.
With the game scoreless in the first inning Barger came to the plate and singled.
Eleven runs in the opening three innings allowed the Treasure Valley to easily put away the SW Oregon. , an RBI single by Bailey Bennett, an RBI single by Haylee Hathorn, and a groundout by Jessica Capson during the first inning and an error, an error, an RBI single by Capson, , and in the second inning supplied the early offense for the Treasure Valley.
Bennett racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Treasure Valley.
Samantha Burks had an impressive outing against the Treasure Valley's lineup. The Treasure Valley managed just two hits off of the the SW Oregon's pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two during his 2 2/3 innings of work.
Capson got the win, running his season record to 14-6. He allowed two runs over 2 2/3 innings. He struck out two, walked two and surrendered one hit.
Jessica Myers ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his twelfth loss of the year. He allowed nine runs in 1 2/3 innings, walked four and struck out two.
