Saturday was a great day for Sydnie Malloy, as he hit two home runs to carry the Spokane (28-12) to a 13-8 victory over the Columbia Basin (14-22) in seven innings.
Both squads had things going at the plate, tallying 21 runs and 27 hits, including zero extra base hits.
Bailey Walthers paced the Columbia Basin at the plate. Walthers went 2-3, drove in one and scored two runs. He singled in the first inning and doubled in the fifth inning.
Even though Haylie Van Laethem allowed eight runs over six innings he still recorded the victory, his tenth of the season. He struck out five, walked three and surrendered nine hits.
Gabby Meza was charged with his ninth loss of the year. He allowed seven runs in five innings, walked four and struck out two.
The Spokane easily handled the Columbia Basin pitching as seven hitters combined for 13 hits, 12 RBIs and 11 runs scored.
