Colby Dishmond was cold coming off the bench, but Dishmond warmed up quickly as Dishmond stroked a key pinch-hit single in the one to lead the Statesville Owls (12-10) to a 6-4 win over the Carolina Vipers (10-13) on Friday at Statesville Aggies Home Field.
With the Statesville Owls leading by one in the first inning, Dishmond came to the plate and singled.

Zachary Thompson had a hot bat for the Statesville Owls. Thompson went 1-3 and scored two runs. He singled in the first innings.
William Feimster improved to 2-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Statesville Owls. He allowed one run over four innings. He struck out seven, walked two and surrendered four hits.
Patrick Haynes was charged with his second loss of the year. He allowed six runs in 3 2/3 innings, walked four and struck out one.
