Joe Yankee carried the RR Construction (5-2) to a 5-4 victory over the Nine on Thursday at Cardines Field with a strong game at the plate and on the rubber.

Yankee got on base three times in the game for the RR Construction. He singled in the third inning.

Yankee had an impressive outing against the Nine (3-7)'s lineup. The Nine managed just two hits off of Yankee, who allowed two earned runs, walked one and struck out five during his five innings of work.

A bright spot for the Nine in the defeat was Josh Sokol, who allowed only one run while striking out five.

Jay Silvia racked up three RBIs on one hit for the Nine. He homered in the fourth inning.

Marwing Pena recorded the win for the RR Construction. He pitched 2 2/3 shutout innings. He struck out two, walked five and surrendered one hit.

Frank Mazza ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just one inning, walked three, struck out one, and allowed four runs.
